If you were looking for an exact time and day, it was 3:30 a.m. on March 19th. That’s when I officially had enough with contacts and glasses. It had already been a long week getting ready for the BU men’s basketball team playing in the NCAA tournament.

    I’ve decided to expand the lasik blog somewhat to include areas beyond New York. Here’s something I found recently…
    LASIK has been assessed and improved by more than a decade of clinical studies and technological innovation since the procedure was introduced. A new review found an overall patient satisfaction rate of 95.4 percent (2,097 of 2,198 subjects), with a range of 87.2 to 100 percent.

    What’s new in the lasik industry? It seems as though there’s always far more than what I have time to write about…
    Stem cells collected from human corneas restore transparency and don’t trigger a rejection response when injected into eyes that are scarred and hazy, according to experiments conducted in mice by researchers at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Their study will be published in the journal Stem Cells and appears online today.
