I’ve decided to expand the lasik blog somewhat to include areas beyond New York. Here’s something I found recently…
Giant papillary conjunctivitis (GPC) is an inflammation of the inner surface of the eyelids, most frequently associated with contact lens wear. It can develop in people who wear either soft or rigid gas permeable contact lenses and can occur at any time, even if an individual has successfully worn contacts for a number of years. Although not vision threatening, GPC can be inconvenient and may require one to stop wearing contacts temporarily or even permanently.

Just a quick bit of information I found….
The cost of laser eye surgery shouldn’t be a factor in getting the best vision care in the area. At Global Laser Vision, we want to help all our qualified patients see better, even those who might be deterred by the cost. To that end, we provide a variety of options for payment. If paying by cash or credit card is not an option for you, we have loan options available. You can apply by both mail or fax.

How many lasik surgeons do you think there are in New York? I’d say easily hundreds and perhaps thousands, so don’t just look for the best deal - they’re your only set of eyes ;)
    Eye Function

The eye works much like a camera. Like the eye, a camera produces images by focusing light to create a visual impression on film. In vision, light enters the eye through the cornea, which with the lens focuses the image onto the retina where it is then transferred to the brain via the optic nerve. The eye’s ability to focus on objects up-close is accomplished by tensing or relaxing the muscles of the lens in the eye. However, with age, the eye loses its ability to focus, making near vision – the ability to see things up-close – difficult without the aid of reading glasses.
